Bio
Was born in Catamarca- Argentina in 1954, resides in Spain since 1989.
He has exhibit both collectively and individually about thirty times in Argentina at Galeria VYP, Spain, at Galleries Orfila, Clave, Pilares, Martinez Glera etc.; in USA at Latino Arts, Inc.; in Chile at Matthei Gallery, in London at Blackheath Gallery. also participated in various competitions and national and international awards. There are numerous articles in magazines and newspapers about his work and two books: Schugujeres, ( Last Kingdom Editions) book of drawings and Paul Schugurensky, a monograph about his work published by the Gallery with text by A. Orfila Leyva, in the collection "The Contemporaries".

About his work
"Contemplating the work of this important Argentine artist living in Spain, strongly impacts the emotions of the viewer. Observing these paintings involves the challenge to sustain the view on the discomfort stare provoked by his creatures, stripped of all complacency, portrayed in their brutal humanity.
His painting is a silent cry that enables us to impiously intuit the sober side of these beings. The characters are portrayed with vigor, but the boundaries dissolve in a dark background, creating an inscrutable climate. With their furrowed faces, the characters appear expectants under an enigmatic twilight that barely allows to see what is expressed.
In some works the artist uses an iconographic representation which resembling a bubble, enhances a particular area of the composition. Schugurensky perhaps referring to his private space and a possibly encryption holding the secret of his narrative.
Connoisseur of the time changes, his figurative work recreates the legacy of the History of the European great masters, between them Rembrandt, Renoir and Van Gogh, from whom he takes, by a artistic affinity, the capacity to go beyond the representation of the characters" by the Gallery Orfila with text by A. Leyva
