Bio:
In 2001, following her heart and lifelong desire, Louise sidelined her career as a publisher and award-winning journalist to study oil painting with noted still life artist, Frank Arcuri--in-studio and at The Art Student’s League, NY, and master landscape painter, John P. Osborne at the Ridgewood Art Institute, NJ. She has exhibited at the National Arts Gallery in New York City, as part of the Hudson Valley Art Association and Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club Exhibitions and has held one-woman shows at The Bergen Performing Arts Center and and various galleries. Her work has received numerous industry awards, including Kent Art Association, Ulrich, Betty Kaytes Floral; is in numerous private collections/foundations and was featured in the June, 2008 issue of The Artist's Magazine. Louise is currently represented by Artist Frame Gallery, Verona, New Jersey; Fine Art Gallery, Lambertville, New Jersey; Jewel Spiegel Gallery, Englewood, New Jersey and Village Artworks, Lahaska, Pa.

Artist Statement:
Capturing the Soul of a Vision!
I am inspired to paint still life and make it anything but still… In the same way that a poet crafts his work with precision, incorporating metaphors that make you think, associate and subsequently be moved in some way, my goal is to inject a canvas with beautiful imagery and a fluid stream of luminous light that will viscerally entice a viewer into an intimate scene of my creation.
My paintings in a broader sense are all about capturing the soul of a vision. Toward that aim, I especially enjoy taking simple objects: timeless, vintage vases, colorful blooms, all manner of reflective surfaces, nature’s bounty, and giving them human qualities; creating something of beauty that people will respond to emotionally, visually and intellectually.
As a contemporary realist painter and teacher, my passion for painting extends into all genres and I happily include landscapes and figuratives in my body of work. My first love, however, remains still life, which for me affords the most artistic control over such elements as composition, props, lighting, environment and climate, thus a greater freedom to express the message.
