Bio
Born 1954
I've had three major careers in my life, and art is my fourth. Following my discharge from the military in the mid 1970's I worked odd jobs, and went to school in the evenings. In time my love of flying led me to technical school, where my first career as an aircraft mechanic began. Years later, the father of a friend who owned a graphic design studio offered me a job as a paste up artist. Ready for a change, I took the position, and entered the world of art. A year later financial problems with this company forced them to lay me off, but a chance meeting with an old friend who had just opened a type shop a couple of days later, provided me a much needed job. We eventually became partners, and kept the business going for another eight years. The advent of desktop publishing took it's toll on our client base, and sadly we decided to close down the shop. After a year or so of freelance work, I was eager for a steady paycheck, and I decided to follow my wife's career path, and get into nursing. After three years of school, working nights as a tech in an emergency room I began my third career at that same children's hospital in the er. I later moved to the Operating Room of another hospital, and worked there for the next eight years. When I became aware of the internet, and saw it's potential as an outlet for my art I became very excited. In the beginning I sold my work on auction sites, and gradually found my way into brick and mortar galleries. 2009 marks my fifth year as a professional artist.
